Sandlins Gift Assures Success of Museum
Marco Island has been given the opportunity to build a world-class Historical Museum through a land grant from Collier County if the Marco Island Historical Society can raise $3M to build the museum building. “Alan and Linda Sandlin, prominent Marco business leaders, have shown their support for the museum by pledging $100,000 to assure the success of the museum, ” said Bill Perdichizzi head of the Society’s fund raising campaign. “Alan is also on the Task Force to establish the Museum Foundation. On March 7th The Sandlins sponsored a private reception and fund raising event at one of their River Front estate listings with Dr Wes Cowan, star of the PBS series History Detectives and featured appraiser on the Antiques Road show,” Bill continued. “This is a great opportunity to build a world-class museum right here on Marco Island and we want to help all we can,” Alan said. Linda added, “Marco Island has been our home and source of our business for over 25 years. We want to give something back to the community that has been so good to us.” Anyone wanting more information about the museum or wanting to make a donation should contact the Sandlins.
