The items were donated from survivors, liberators, and other dedicated people. Through the end of September visit an authentic 10 ton box car from the railway era that transported millions of Jewish people to the concentration camps. This was a four year search to acquire this display! The museum has videotaped testimonials from local survivors, Liberators, Resisters and Witnesses so this time period could be documented for generations to come. Tours can be scheduled where you meet a survivor. Not recommended for children under 12 due to some of the nature of material.

Did you know… Take a close look on the Collier county emblem…it’s not a manatee, it’s not a dolphin, nor is it a gopher turtle. It’s a turkey! The first Board of Collier Commissioners adopted the wild turkey as Collier county’s official emblem on July 9th, 1923. Bird native to the area and an important food source for the early settlers the wild turkey is still at home in the county’s woodlands. In 1962 the County’s Clerk of the Courts, Margaret T. Scott, incorporated the wild turkey into a County seal and later, a County flag patterned after Florida’s state flag. To see a photo of our famed turkey log onto www.colliermusuems.com/history.county_seal.php
