2013 Stamp Out Hunger NALC Food Drive

21st Anniversary

Successful year!

The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) of Marco Island is pleased to report that the 21st Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive on May 11, 2013 was once again a great success, bringing in over 15,000 pounds of very much needed food on Marco Island on Food Drive Day alone and about 26,000 pounds in total so far. In fact, the combined efforts of the NALC and Collier Harvest succeeded in actually creating over 294,000 pounds of food accessible to feed the hungry in Collier County!!

The NALC thanks everyone for their community spirit, to all that made a food donation and to all of the wonderful, hard-working Marco Island volunteers. We couldn’t have done it without everyone’s continued and devoted support.

Food Drive volunteers work hard collecting donations and also have fun creating new friendships and reacquainting with old friends too!

The NALC is once again very close to hitting this year’s Marco Island Post Office food drive donation goal of 30,000 pounds. But guess what? You can still help by leaving a non-perishable food donation for your carrier in a shopping bag by your mail box or by dropping off your donation in the large orange bin at the Marco Island Post Office lobby.

So, please let your family, friends and neighbors all know that it’s not too late to give! There are many folks in Collier County that are truly relying on our donations to help put food on their family’s table this summer. Our local food banks count on our donations to pull them through the summer months especially during a time when children are not receiving school lunches.
